Dr. Harmon understands the importance of maintaining one’s flying status
and the tremendous work and effort invested to attain the position of
commercial airline pilot. He is committed to assisting pilots in the maintenance of their flying status. With his team of
specialists, experience, and knowledge you will find his practice ready to serve you and committed to keep you flying.
Accepted to the Air Force Academy, he did not pass the vision standard for a pilot slot, and so decided to attend Purdue University. Kirk earned his Medical Degree from Cornell University, and then completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
His love of flying never lessened, and at the conclusion of his residency, he joined the Air National
Guard, RF4 squadron, in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended Flight Surgeon Training and became
“Rated Air Crew” as a Flight Surgeon attending to the health and welfare of the squadron pilots.
With a move to the Pacific Northwest in 1988 he turned his attention to commercial flight and became a
FAA examiner in 1991, and a Senior Aviation Medical examiner in 1996. Currently, Kirk practices in
